What is welded gabion mesh?
Welded gabion mesh is a mesh structure manufactured using welding technology. It usually adopts high-quality low-carbon steel wire, and its surface is treated with electro-galvanizing, hot-dip galvanizing or PVC coating to enhance corrosion resistance. Gabion mesh is a hollow structure, which is used to hold stones inside-As box or baskets.
For specifcations, it is combined by horizontal wire, vertical wire, and the spring wire. The wire diameter of both horizontal and vertical wire could choose from ø3mm to ø10mm. the mesh opeing difference from 50mm to 150mm, squre hole or rectangular hole. The external dimension of gabion box could be customized. usually between 0.5M to 2.5M.

How to install the welded gabion mesh kits into gabion baskets ？
Welded gabions are usually shipped in the form of “single mesh sheets” and need to be assembled into closed “net boxes” or “net mats” on site. The key is to ensure that the frame is strong and the dimensions are accurate.
- Unfold the mesh and position it at a 90° angle to create the initial cage frame.
- Pass one end of the spiral binder through the mesh holes of the adjacent mesh sheets and twist it clockwise several times until it is secure.
- Install the internal partitions, also using spiral binder.
- Stone Filling: Ensure the cage is dense and erosion-resistant.
Stone filling is the core of the welded gabion’s protective function. Selecting the appropriate stone and controlling the filling density are crucial to prevent deformation later. - Capping and Reinforcement: Complete the Cage Enclosure：Capping is the final step in cage installation. Ensure the top is tightly sealed to prevent stone loss or cage deformation.
